Why train your teams on ISO standards?
Because a certificate is held up by the people who run the processes and audit them. The certification body’s auditor questions process owners on their indicators, top management on its decisions, and reads internal audit reports to judge whether the system really improves.
The weaknesses we see are familiar: process owners who discover their indicators the day before the audit, internal audits reduced to a list of questions, findings so vague that no action follows, management reviews that observe without deciding.
The calendar adds pressure. ISO 9001:2026 was published on 16 September 2026 and ISO 14001:2026 in April 2026. A packaging plant in Kenitra, a contractor in Casablanca, a distributor in Abidjan or a manufacturer in the Gulf will have its system audited against the new editions. Its process owners and internal auditors will carry the transition.
What does the ISO standards and management systems domain cover?
The requirements of the main management system standards, internal audit, problem-solving tools and Lead Auditor courses.

ISO 9001:2026: what should you train for the transition?
Not much, but the right things. According to the Global ACI transition document, which is mandatory for signatory accreditation bodies and the certification bodies they accredit, the overall changes are minimal and most organisations will find them largely intuitive. Training therefore targets the amended clauses and the people concerned.
Requirement | What changes according to Global ACI | Who to train |
|---|---|---|
Leadership | New item: promoting quality culture and ethical behaviour; “continual improvement” instead of “improvement” | Top management, supervisors |
Risks and opportunities | Reorganised into determining risks and opportunities, actions to address risks, actions to address opportunities | Quality manager, process owners |
Planning of changes | Adds monitoring the effectiveness of changes, communicating them and reviewing their results | Process owners, project managers |
Awareness | Adds organisational quality culture and ethical behaviour | All staff |
Management review | Adds changes in the needs and expectations of relevant interested parties | Top management, quality manager |
The awareness requirement deserves attention: staff awareness of quality culture and ethical behaviour becomes a requirement. A short, recorded session led by line managers meets it better than a memo.
The same document sets the calendar: initial certifications to the 2015 edition end on 31 March 2028, and the transition ends on 30 September 2029. ISO 14001:2026 follows a similar path, with a transition until 30 April 2029. For a site already certified, the catalogue’s “Transition to ISO 9001:2026” course lasts 1 day; the ISO 9001:2026 certification path links top management awareness, requirements, process approach, internal auditor training and a mock audit, over 7 to 8 days spread across 4 to 6 months. For full support, see ISO 9001 certification and ISO 14001 certification.
ISO 9001 internal auditor training: what must an internal auditor be able to do?
Prepare an audit, conduct interviews, collect evidence, write usable findings and follow up actions. The course draws on ISO 19011:2026, the guidelines for auditing management systems, which ISO/TC 176/SC 2 presents as a key reference standard. ISO 19011:2026 was published on 27 May 2026 (4th edition) and replaces the 2018 edition, according to the ISO committee page.
In practice, a trained internal auditor can:
- read a process and build an audit plan from its risks and indicators;
- ask open questions, observe and sample records;
- tell an observation, a nonconformity and an opportunity for improvement apart;
- write a finding with the requirement, the observation and the evidence, without judging people;
- verify that an action is effective, not just completed.
Internal auditor | Lead Auditor (CQI/IRCA-certified course) | |

IRCA Lead Auditor course in Morocco and Africa: how does it work?
The CQI (Chartered Quality Institute) and its IRCA register certify Lead Auditor courses for several management systems, including quality (QMS), environment (EMS), occupational health and safety (OHSMS) and food safety (FSMS). The certificate is issued under the body’s rules, not the trainer’s.
The course lasts about forty hours, in practice one week, mixing input, case studies and audit role-play. Participants are assessed under CQI/IRCA rules, during the course and through a final written exam; those who pass both receive a course pass certificate. Before enrolling, check the edition of the standard taught (ISO 9001:2026 or 2015, ISO 14001:2026 or 2015) and the language of the exam.
ACG’s trainers are IRCA CQI qualified, and its founder, Dr. Ismail Idrissi, is an IRCA-certified QHSE Lead Auditor. They audit in practice, which feeds the case studies. ACG delivers CQI/IRCA-certified Lead Auditor courses through approved training partners (Approved Training Partners), not in its own name: the 2027 catalogue lists them as “IRCA Lead Auditor (ATP partnership)”, over 5 days.
The course suits QHSE managers, supplier auditors in industrial and retail groups, and professionals building an auditing career in Morocco, West Africa or the Middle East.
Integrated QHSE: how do you train a team on several standards at once?
By starting with what they share. ISO 9001:2026 aligns with the harmonized structure of ISO management system standards, shared by ISO 14001:2026 and ISO 45001:2018: context, leadership, planning, support, operation, performance evaluation, improvement.
The course covers that common core once (policy, objectives, risks, documented information, internal audit, management review), then each standard’s specific requirements: environmental aspects and compliance obligations for ISO 14001, hazards and worker participation for ISO 45001. Internal auditors then learn combined auditing. See our QHSE and ISO systems expertise and, for ongoing support, an outsourced QHSE manager.
Which quality tools should you train: 8D, FMEA, SPC, 5S?
Those that answer your real problems:
- 8D to handle a customer complaint or a serious nonconformity, from containment to preventing recurrence.
- FMEA to anticipate product or process failures before they happen.
- SPC to follow process stability with control charts and react before the defect.
- 5S to organise a workstation, a workshop or a store for good.
These tools are taught on your own cases, in-company: a recent complaint, an unstable line, a workshop to reorganise.
How are these courses delivered?
In-company to train process owners and auditors on your own processes, in open sessions for a QHSE manager or a new auditor, or online through OmniLearn.
- Languages: French, Arabic and English; Spanish and Portuguese on request.
- During: QR-code attendance, practical cases, marked test, end-of-course evaluation.
- After: numbered certificates and a report produced with Inspirra, the course’s digital twin on OmniLearn, the CourseTwin AI tutor.
The full sequence is on our before, during and after page; for a programme built on your procedures, see custom programmes and paths.
How can these courses be funded in Morocco?
By including them in the training plan before they take place. ACG is eligible for OFPPT special training contracts (CSF). Reference rules of the CSF procedures manual (May 2006, Amendment No. 2 of 2 June 2014): 70% for planned training delivered by an external provider, 40% for unplanned training, the same rates applied to a retained cost of MAD 800 per day per participant for in-house training, calculated excluding tax, within a ceiling based on the declared vocational training tax. Only in-person sessions qualify, not online training.
The certification audit is not a training action. Our simulator gives an order of magnitude, with no commitment. Details on our CSF and OFPPT funding page.
